Monday, June 09, 2008 11:09:41 AM
Last night Steve Roberts and friends(Sunaco Oil) joined us out for a very enjoyable evening on the bay.Big Mike started us off with the first drum of the evening(thank god he caught this fish cuz we were all tired of hearing Bobs bullshit)and that sparked a good bite and everyone got down to buissness. They bit for about a hour or so and we went 6 for 12 with Ralph winning the lunker pool.As the night was dwindling and everyones ear was chew'd off from Bob Dumbham wolfing crap all night guess who's rod goes off at quitting time.Bob hooks into the biggest drum of the year, bigger than the new state record. The fish was so big he couldnt handle it,he fought with every muscle in his body for atleast 20 minutes just huffing and puffing and complaining and then disaster struck.Bob pulled to hard and snapped the line!!The rest of the night he blamed the mates knot.Would somebody please tell Bob that we tied a 8 gallon bucket to his rod and he never really had a fish.On the Bodacious we call it getting EVEN!!!!!!
Monday, June 09, 2008 10:51:48 AM
June 5th was Yank Marine out for a busy night drumming.Total count was 15 with TV Tilsner catching the lunker @ 70lbs.Caterpillar Chris drank the most beer.
June 6th was Brian Stein with another good night with a final count of 14 in the boat and 20 fish hooked but not landed due to tackle failure.Nobody said the boys from Vineland weren,t cheap.Cant even afford new fishing line!!
Friday, June 06, 2008 07:48:21 AM
Last night we had Yank Marine out for a drum trip.Total was 15 drum with Mikey Tilsner winning the lunker with 68lbs.Next open boat is June 11th 5pm-11pm.Penny Hill Jack brought 12yr old Tyler so he could hook up about half the fish and pass the pole to the grown-ups so they could catch one!!!!!!Good job Tyler
Thursday, June 05, 2008 10:59:45 AM
Its still hot an heavy with the drum fish bite!We ran a open boat on Tuesday and ended up with 13 drum up to 60lbs.Last night we fished through 3 differnt storms and ended up with 19 drum and 12 break-offs.I advise everyone to check their tackle before coming down because some of these bigger fish are winning the battle due to tackle failure. Our next open boat will be weds June 11th @ 5pm-11pm.
Sunday, June 01, 2008 06:00:23 PM
It keeps getting better each week!!!!Tuesday with 34,Weds we had 15,Thursday we had 14,Friday we had 15 and Sat we ended up with 19.Most are 50-90lbs and on Weds we watch Nic Henry of Millville reel in the NEW STATE RECORD weighing in at 109lbs!!!Good job Nick.
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 09:37:59 AM
We struggled a little on the holiday weekend with a tons of boats out but we made up for it last night. No boat traffic and we could fish where we wanted and it was ON!!We lost Billy Swift last year in a car accident and we had a fund raiser on the boat for his 9 yr old daughter. The fish bit as soon as we put the anchor in the mud and after 2 hours we had 34 drum fish up to 75lbs and a little over 1300$ raised for a college fund.My next open Boat is Tuesday June 3rd @ 5pm.
Sunday, May 25, 2008 09:58:17 AM
The past week has been pretty good fishing with double digits up to 80lbs until the holiday weekend arrived.Too many boats fishing this weekend and the charter boats are anticipating great fishing again after the holiday.
Monday, May 19, 2008 08:17:15 PM
Tom Swartz and friends joined us last night for another good trip.I not sure the exact count but I would quess we had 20 drum up to 70lbs and we probably broke off about 8 fish throughout the trip.Great bunch of guys that fished through out the early rain and never complained all night. When the fish bite good and you have a good bunch of guys it makes for the best job in the world!!!!!Hopefully we can stay on top of these fish and keep the rest of our charters happy.
Sunday, May 18, 2008 09:46:20 AM
Drum fishing is at its best with over 50 fish landed in the last 3 trips!!!!!

Tuesday, May 06, 2008 07:42:18 PM

After getting my ear bit off by several customers about updating my reports here they are.The striper season in october was non existence and a slow start in Nov.The last week or so has seen alot improvements with some nicer size bass. We've averaged 6-9 keepers up to 35lbs,6-20 bluefish averaging 10lbs and usually you can throw in 3-8 stripers about 26".We will be targeting bass until mid Dec. and then we will be moving to Wildwood for our offshore jumbo seabass trips Jan. thru March.
Monday, September 24, 2007 06:56:49 PM
We've been offshore a couple times a week and the tuna is going well.Last night we hit em from 9pm til 11:30pm when we had as many as four on at a time. All these yellowfin this year have been 60-100lbs and they been wrecking alot of our tackle. We had a 8 man charter and everyone fought 2-3 tuna before the mad dog blitz was over.We have 4 openings on Oct 4-5 and 4 openings on Oct 14-15 overnight tuna chunking trips.Must have resev.
Tuesday, August 28, 2007 12:09:08 PM
The flounder fishing has come back in the bay in good numbers.Abbott Mech. had action all day on with 3 out of 10 keepers. All the guys were out fished by Tara with a broken arm with her 3lb pool winner.
Souders Excavating went offshore on Sunday for alot of action. We got into some big bruiser bluefin early into the trip.Four hook-ups turned into 2 nice bluefin with the biggest weighing in at 160lbs.Then we headed offshore and ended the trip with 2 big bluefin,5 big yellowfin(70lbs),1 longfin,7 mahi mahi and 1 20lb gray tilefish.
Sunday, August 05, 2007 09:04:24 AM
The tuna fishing has been good on the inshore lumps for 60lb bluefin with a 100lbr thrown in the mix here and there. We just starterd to get some nice size croakers in the bay with a few weakies. The flounder continues to be hit or miss. Our first overnight open boat tuna trip on Aug 20-21 is sold out.The next open boat tuna will be in sept.
Saturday, July 28, 2007 12:58:04 PM
We went offshore twice this week and the tuna fishing is red hot.The 1st trip we had a red hot bite from 5am-8am and ended the morning with 13 tuna up to 75lbs.Yesterdays trip was similar with the final count at 11 tuna up to 80lbs.
Monday, July 23, 2007 04:48:27 PM
We went offshore thursday and friday in the mid-atlantic tuna tournament and found some good inshore action. We fished 50 miles out and we had fish all day.Mostly 50-60lb bluefin and nothing big enough to weigh in but the action was alot of fun.Our next open boat overnight tuna trip leaves Aug 20.We only sail with 12 anglers and its 1st come basis.
Thursday, July 12, 2007 07:23:25 AM
Looks like the tuna season is starting off pretty good. Went to the baltimore canyon where we seen some warm water with Jon Howard masonary and we went 12 for 14 on 50lb yellowfin on June 27th. One week later we went out on a day troll trip and tallied 8 for 12 on med size bluefin. On July 2 we strolled all the way down to the Washington canyon and trolled up 6 for 12 yellowfin with Pete and friends from the Harbour House resturant in PA. Our first overnight open boat will be July 24th-25th. Its time to head offshore!!!!
Friday, June 29, 2007 01:42:26 PM
The drum fish season is over with over all good statistics with 174 drum for 2007.Some nights were better than others and some nights they just didnt bite.Any time we break a 100 I feel its a good year.
The flounder season has already had its ups and downs with the flatties biting all day to not biting at all.The good days have seen action all day with fish up to 8.8lbs.No sign of croakers yet but they should be showing up fast.
The tuna season has been pretty good so far with 19 tuna on 2 trips so far.Nothing really big yet but some good action and some real good eating with yellowfin up to 70lbs.
Our first open boat overnight tuna trip will take place on July 24-25 and the price is 350.00 for the first 12 anglers.
Sunday, May 06, 2007 06:40:34 AM
This past weekend was very disappointing. Seems like the stripers are in their spawn mode and the drum fish didnt want to eat last night. We marked alot of drum and it looks like there are plenty of them around ,just got to be there when they get ready to eat. My only open boat drum trip for May is weds night the 9th leaving 4pm-11pm.
Tuesday, May 01, 2007 05:15:58 AM
Last week the striper action was fast and furious. The fishing we have seen in over 5 years.40-50 stripers every trip. This past weekend was a different story. The bass slowed and we just picked at em.Sunday we ended up with 7 keepers and around 10 throw backs.Things should get better with the full moon coming this week and we will start Drum fishing next week.OPEN BOAT DRUM TRIP MAY 9th LEAVING 4pm-11pm.
Friday, March 23, 2007 07:02:21 AM
we got out yesterday and
found some nice seabass up to 7lbs.The thoughts of the big boys leaving town was far from the truth as this was a good day for qauntity and qaulity. We ended up with around 400 bass from 3 to 7lbs.Looks like next thursday is fishable and that will be our last open boat.
Sunday, March 11, 2007 08:37:49 AM
We fished weds with the reeds beach gang with 20 degree temps and snow falling down on us all day.The seabass were very hungry and most guys got there limits.Phil Johnson,Howard Severance and Bobby Sheppard got their limits along with many others.
Sat we headed off with Cedar Buck and double oaks gun clubs.Rob (slob) Pettit and Rusty Brown from cedar buck out fished the guys from double oaks. The experienced cedar buck guys finished with a total of 205 seabass to double oaks 125.Better luck next year for the double oaks gang.
Sunday, February 25, 2007 06:57:07 PM
Seabass,Seabass and More seabass is the best way to explain todays fishing. We went offshore with Popeyes marina and friends today and had 20 guys catch their limit in 4 hrs fishing.Jumbo bass up 6-7lbs + 20 guys =500 seabass amd 1000 filets. We got back to the dock at 3pm with 100% satifaction. If you want jumbo bass its definetly time!!!
Sunday, February 04, 2007 08:27:26 AM
The offshore winds are averaging 25-40kts mostly NW and therefore we have been tied to the dock the last few weeks. With a little luck the end of Feb and the month of march will be better.
Friday, January 26, 2007 09:28:24 AM
We got out wed with Jerry Sulolf and friends with a little more wind then the predicted 10-15.The drift stayed around 1kt all day which is good but the seabass didnt decide to eat until the afternoon. We had a slow pick all morning then started getting better in the afternoon.I stayed a hour extra to catch a few more to make up for the morning bite and it was the best fishing of the day.A little late for a great trip but it sure did help out topping off some coolers. The guys fished hard all day and they didnt stop trying until it was time to leave.
Monday, January 22, 2007 07:47:50 AM
We got out yesterday with Dave Atkinson and friends for a good day of jumbo seabass.Everyone caught fish from 3-8lbs even in some rough seas early in am.The afternoon the wind died out and the fishing was alot better. The fish are definetly getting bigger and I think it should only improve thruout the next two months. Thanks to Atkinson's Tavern(cape may courthouse) for bringing all the delicious food.
Saturday, January 13, 2007 07:27:53 AM
We left the dock @ 4am with Ecobound Co. and headed offshore 60 miles to the rock pile for some jumbo seabass action. The fish started right away and soon everybody was hooked up.We seen fish to 6lbs and also seen alot of shorts,dogfish,1 tilefish and 6 tog.One angler said he caught 9 sets of doubles,1 triple headed and 4 singles thru out the day.Squid and clams was the bait of choice.
Tuesday, December 26, 2006 08:25:42 AM
The seabass fishing has been pretty good. Our Jan 5th trip has been booked and the next open boat will be on Monday Jan 15th(Martin Luther day) sailing 4am.Must have resevations.
Tuesday, December 19, 2006 06:29:08 PM
Bodacious will be sailing out of Wildwood @No Bones Bait& Tackle starting Jan 1st.Our target is giant seabass, ling, cod and tile fish. These fish enter our waters about 60 miles offshore every winter and the possibilities of catching your limit of seabass(25) is very good.Reservations are required and we have rental rods available. The trip runs from 4am-6pm.These fish live in 225' of water so be ready for alot of reeling on seabass in the 4 to 8lb class. The first open boat is Jan 6th.We will be running open boat trips and charters.
Wednesday, November 08, 2006 09:28:04 PM
The bigger stripers have showed up and as usual your not going to catch 20 0r 30 in a trip. These big fish are alot of fun and those who catch them cant wait to come back.On the average trip we catch 6 stripers and on a good trip we'll catch 15.The biggest we have caught was 43lb @ 47".I have seen a couple 50lb'rs at the dock and it should keep getting better before its over.
Sunday, October 29, 2006 08:05:12 AM
Windy Windy Windy is this months report. We got in one trip this week on friday with the Obrian & Geare and we seen a few nicer size fish.We lost a few and put 5 nice keepers in the 40" range.Dave Toddest caught the biggest skate.
Wednesday, October 11, 2006 07:50:38 AM
The bite still goes on.We decided to go variety fishing on Monday-Tuesday overnighter. We took some local captains for our 2nd annual tuna trip and started off with some seabass.Only spent 1 hour on the seabass and managed a couple but most were short.Off to the wilmington for some tile fish and the 1st pole in the water(Shooter from NO SWEAT)was hooked up.John(INTRIQUE)was soon to follow with another then Marky(GONE FISHING)brung up another. All fish were caught on the bottom in 600' without electric reels. Then we slid over to the other side of the canyon and again 1st rod in Jimmy boop(MISS FORTESCUE)fish on,another tile.Billy(ANDREA)caught one more tile then we stared on the chunk for some tuna.Billy started us off within minutes with a nice 50# yellowfin and he never stopped till 1am.Final tally was 15 yellowfin,5 tile fish,12 big Mahi,1 sword and a small mako. Thanks to my good friends Creeper and shooter(NO SWEAT)Marky and Mark(GONE FISHING)Ray and Jimmy boop(MISS FORTESCUE)Jack and John(INTRIQUE)Billy(ANDREA)John(CRACK OF DAWN)JJ(UNREEL)for a great trip and a awesome time!
Wednesday, October 04, 2006 07:07:58 AM
Went to the spencer canyon with Don Lassaso and friends and ended up with 23 yellowfin and 15 mahi mahi.It was a 8 man charter so everyone caught a couple of tuna.
Sunday, October 01, 2006 06:41:17 PM
The tuna bite has been red hot and I was very dissapointed when I could only come up with 4 yellowfin for Tom Weiss and friends. We gave a honest effort but it just didnt happen.
We went back for revenge today with much better results.Yellowfin 50-75lbs showed up and we went 18 for 25 on a allout frenzy at 4am.Live squid and diamond jigs gotter done.Next open boat will be Oct 23,24th.
Wednesday, September 27, 2006 06:50:16 AM

Tuesday, August 29, 2006 08:15:54 PM
Thursday/Friday with Carl Picallo and friends we headed offshore for some tuna.We caught 5 yellowfin on the troll and picked 3 bluefin on the overnight chunk.
Saturday Penn Jersey concrete joined us for some exciting weakie fishing. It started slow but got better as the day went on.8 of 10 guys got their limit and Buffalo head Pat Philips was high hook for the day.
Monday we headed offshore to a local canyon for some overnight yellowfin action.Patience pay'd off again as we had a very slow night bite, but then at 4am all hell broke loose. The 1st yellowfin blitz of the year was on.Put your line in the water(live squid, butters, sardines and diamond jigs)and hold on!!!!Jake diblowski was relling em in and gaffing at the same time,Wayne Wright pulled in the biggest going at 75lbs .19 yellowfin an 4 mahi mahi .
Friday, August 04, 2006 08:01:58 AM
We went to the inside of the baltimore weds afternoon and started trolling. After a hour a half no bites, green water and not much sign of life so I decided to go south to our bluefin lump.We got into alot of squid when the sun went down and when the sun came up it was ON!We had tuna hooked up all over the boat,5 hooked at one time.We landed 8 and broke off about 10 others. So far thanks to the bluefin its been a good start for our 06 tuna season.
Wednesday, August 02, 2006 09:29:07 AM
the bluefin bite has been very good with fish up to 150lbs.We got 15 to the boat and broke off about 10 last friday morning.Went back tuesday for a day chunk trip and ended up with 2 bluefin and 1 yellowfin.
Sunday, July 09, 2006 05:27:11 PM
Things are looking up in the delaware bay.Today we had poles bending all day long.We started off with some weakies and king fish all on the small side but its good just to see the weakies again. We decided to drift for flounder the rest of the day and ended up with a good catch.Lots of fish alot small 15 to 16 inch fish but we picked 4 to 6 nice keepers on every drift including a 26 inch 6.65lb flounder by Peny Hill Jack. Thanks to Big Mike and Turf construction for chartering the bodacious.
Friday, June 23, 2006 05:05:09 AM

Joe Franks and friends from delaware county all caught drum and a couple guys doubled up.The drum fishing keeps getting better each year.
